It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Bergen. The Department is housed in the new Biomedical Research Building (BBB) and has state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.

The Department of Biomedicine has a scientific staff of around 200 and conducts degree programs for 700 students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nutrition as well as Master’s and PhD degree’s in Biomedicine.  It is one of the largest departments at the University of Bergen. The staff is international with 20% of the permanent scientific staff and 40% of pre- and postdoctoral fellows recruited from abroad. Department research covers biochemistry, molecular biology, anatomy, cell biology and physiology.

We will do our best to make your stay at the Department of Biomedicine productive and memorable.
