Access to BIOMIC server

Note! To be able to connect to the MIC directory on the server klient.uib.no (former called skule.uib.no), you must be connected to VPN if you are on the UiB wireless.

Open Windows Explorer and choose Map network drive... (On Windows XP, in Windows Explorer - the standard file manager: open My Computer - select Tools - Map Network Drive...)

Please note that there has been an update of the servername and path for the access, use the address below this picture, and not the one in this picture.

Select S: as Drive: (or any other you like)

Write \\klient.uib.no\FELLES\MOFA\Biomic in Folder: (for other server areas, se below)

Check Reconnect at logon

Check Connect using different credentials (Only if you use a private computer/non-client computer) (On Windows XP, click Connect using a different user name)

Click Finish.

If you checked "Connect using different credentials" (only for private computers or non-client computers), you must enter username and passord:

Write "UIB\username" (both students and employees) and password. Click "Remember my credentials".

Click OK

The Biomic server is shown as a network drive in Windows Explorer.

Other server areas at the Department of Biomedicine, select the drive letter P: if you map one of these areas:

\\klient.uib.no\FELLES\MOFA\Biomed

Most of the common areas of the Department is located here, including most of the research groups and the administration. You will only be able to enter the areas you have got access to.

Groups with other server locations:
