The junior faculty board invites you to actively participate in the Junior Scientist Mini-Symposium Series with subsequent “meet and greet” ☺
What is it all about?
The main ambition of the Junior Scientist Mini-Symposium Series is to improve scientific interactions among researchers at the BBB. It is a new series of internal seminars, organized in a mini-symposium format, of a similar standard as the already established BBB seminar series. They will be in a format where four PhD students / Post Docs will give 15 min presentations each. The chair of the symposium will be held by a senior scientist. There will be one symposium every second month on Friday from 13:00 till 15:00 (1 pm - 3 pm), which allows for each PhD student to present every second year. The participants will be chosen based on shared thematic focus, e.g. based on a common method or a similar biological question.
All scientists, post-docs, PhD candidates, master students, technical personnel and engineers are strongly encouraged to participate. One study point will be given to PhD students for presentations and three for six attendances at the mini symposium.
An important request is made to group leaders and senior research for attendance and active participation: we are young scientists that want to improve and are seeking constructive criticism!
Each Mini-Symposium will be followed by an informal gathering. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. In order to facilitate food and drinking planning, an on-line attendance form will be made available one week in advance. The Junior Scientist Mini-Symposium Series will be a great opportunity to become familiar and/or stay updated on your local research environment. Moreover it is intended to facilitate an exchange of technical expertise and experience, to foster collaborative efforts and ultimately to improve the scientific quality of the institute for all.
