Viktig informasjon i forbindelse med stengingen grunnet koronaviruset

From Biomed

Dear colleagues,

As you have been informed by emails from the prorector and the dean, the situation has dramatically changed this evening and the rule is that everybody will have to stay home. We are extremely sorry for the rather severe interruption of ongoing work and the potential loss of precious research materials etc. However, the extent of measures indicates the seriousness of the situation. IBM has set up a task force consisting of Janne, Frode, Bård and myself. We will coordinate all measures to be taken at the department and implement them. The team is led by Frode and Bård who will be at the department. Given the implemented rules, Janne and I are currently in quarantine at home, because of stays abroad earlier this month. However, we can also be reached, of course. We have measures in place that will ensure functionality of essential infrastructure (including refilling of nitrogen tanks etc.) and receipt of incoming deliveries. All instructions by the task force need to be strictly followed.

As indicated by the dean, critical research activities can be taken care of until Monday, March 16, 9:00. This is supposed to be coordinated by the research group leaders with regard to what they deem critical and who should do the work. Given the short notice, we do not ask for any formal justification, but rely on everybody's competence and cooperation. In case of uncertainty, research group leaders will be asked to cofirm the necessity of personnel to get access to the building. In addition, tomorrow morning, everybody may get access to the building to collect their personal items and things that might be needed to work from home. Should you have problems getting into the building Friday 13th of March, please contact Bård (email: Bård Kjetil Bratli Sværi <Bard.Svari@uib.no>, tlf.: 45252730 ) or Frode (Frode Berven <Frode.Berven@uib.no>, tlf.: 99163866) who will let you in. On Saturday 14.03, the main contact for this will be Bård. For Sunday 15.03, we will send information in a separate mail to those who need access. Therefore, please send a request for access on Sunday to the task force. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience, but we hope that everybody will contirbute constructively to handle the situation in the best possible way. Regarding teaching activities, I refer to the emails sent earlier today by Arne.

With best wishes,

Mathias
